No Scrooge at MWCS!

December 21, 2011

Congratulations to the 5th grade students of Mrs. Burke and Mrs. Janovsky, Mr. Gotsch, Mr. Dashnaw, Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Deleel for today’s wonderful performance of Dickens’, The Christmas Carol.  Carols were provided by Mrs. Finnegan and Mr. Olin’s 2nd grade students.  The scenery, costumes and drama were all top notch!  Even with an unexpected delay due to inclement weather, the students and staff all proved that regardless, ” the show must go on”.   Ebenezer Scrooge did not win out at MWCS!

Music is the Rhythm of Life

December 16, 2011

Such was a line from one of the songs at last evening’s Grade 4-7 Winter Concert.  The overflowing audience couldn’t help but get caught up in the rhythm!  The Band and Chorus performers rocked the auditorium.  Holiday decorations, dress clothes and student’s smiles sparkled throughout the evening. Thank you again to Mrs. Burnett and Mr. Bruso for a wonderful experience for our students, staff and parents.  We are also very grateful to everyone who attended.  Madrid-Waddington Teachers’ Association provided refreshments for both evening concerts.  No Grinches here!

Tis’ the Season!

December 14, 2011

Congratulations to the High School Chorus and Band members on another wonderful concert.  Last night’s Winter concert provided multicultural as well as seasonal entertainment.  The students’ talents are impressive.  Kudos to teachers, Mrs. Nichelle Burnett and Mr. Lee Bruso, for another outstanding display of challenging musical arrangements and student achievement in the arts.
